BATALA: SSP Batala Mr. Shuhail Kasim Mir took a unique initiative to provide an open platform to the people to share their problems and suggestions, following which a police-public meet was held at the local community hall, near Khajuri Gate Batala. In which a large number of city residents including various social service organizations (NGOs), industrialists, representatives of hotel associations, representatives of health institutions etc participated.
Speaking on this occasion, SSP Batala said that the main purpose of conducting today's police-public meet is to create better coordination between the police and the people and solve the problems at the ground level. He said that it is necessary to have coordination between the police and the people and with this intention, a police-public meeting has been held today and valuable suggestions have been taken.
On this occasion, the residents of the city first praised the initiative of SSP Batala and said that such an initiative is very beneficial for the betterment of the society.
On this occasion, representatives of various social service organizations and people brought various issues to the attention of SSP and also gave valuable suggestions. He said that PCR teams should be installed in parks, vegetable markets and bazaars of Batala city. A common place should be designated for protesting. More concrete strategy should be devised to prevent incidents of theft, drug addiction. More action should be taken against agents who cheat people. The traffic in the city should be improved. More PCR teams should be deployed near schools and colleges in the city. Various issues such as installation of CCTV cameras in the main squares of the city, removal of illegal encroachments from the markets, making e-rickshaw drivers aware of the traffic rules, protecting the trees planted in the city from Gujjar cattle, etc.
On this occasion, the SSP thanked all the personalities who attended the police-public meet and said that the suggestions given by them will be implemented at the ground level and they will try their best to resolve the issues of the people as soon as possible.He said that as the police-public meet has been held at Batala today, similarly a public meet will be held at Dera Baba Nanak, Fatehgarh Churian and Sri Hargobindpur Sahib.
