CHANDIGARH: The People of Delhi state are getting free electricity up to 200 units and thousands of consumers get zero electricity bills, especially in the winter months. Kejriwal has also announced 300 units of free electricity for all in Punjab if AAP will be able to form government in the state in 2022.
Prof Pankaj Mohindru appreciated the announcement but made strong apprehensions that how freebies like Delhi state have been decided for the Punjab state where coffers are empty.
He further revealed to the press that Delhi state is a cash-rich state where huge taxes are being paid by industries and corporate houses. Delhi is having a large number of manufacturing units and Head offices of Multi-National Companies. On the other hand, Punjab state at this moment has outstanding debt of more than 2.6 Lacs crore. The per capita public debt has been calculated to be around Rs 90, 000 with the projected population of the state as 3.07 crore.
It is appealed to the Supremo of Aam Aadmi Party to express in detail the roadmap of his party to revive the economy of the border state where every newborn child comes to the world with an outstanding debt of Rs 90, 000 on his head.
Prof. Pankaj Mohindru is an expert in the field of management emphasized that a sturdy novel model is needed to fill the gap between the revenue generation and the huge expenses for the development in the state. It is apprehended that the Delhi-like governance of having Mohalla clinics and an Effective school education system is not at all possible in Punjab due to scarcity of funds.
