AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has written a letter to the Chief Commissioner of the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, Saad Ahmed Waraich, thanking him for generously granting visas to Sikh pilgrims for visiting the shrines in Pakistan.

The letter written by the Shiromani Committee President said that it is a matter of happiness that all the visas have been issued as per the list of 1942 names sent by the Shiromani Committee for the pilgrims going to visit the shrines in Pakistan on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi).

This cooperation has provided an opportunity to the Sikh pilgrims to visit their historical and holy shrines. Such a decision not only respects the religious sentiments of the pilgrims, but also makes an important contribution in strengthening the cultural and fraternal relations between India and Pakistan.

The SGPC President appreciated this meaningful initiative of Chief Commissioner Saad Ahmed Waraich and his team and wrote that the cooperation provided by you will always be remembered with respect.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Pakistan government for granting visas to a large number of Sikh pilgrims and making appropriate arrangements.

The SGPC President expressed the hope that such cooperation will continue in the future as well, which will give the Sikh community the opportunity to connect with their heritage and visit the Gurdwaras.
