AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Akali Dal has strongly condemned the tragic incident in which a person tried to desecrate and damage the statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar in heritage street.
SAD Leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said that this is a shameful incident and has hurt the sentiments of millions of Indians around the world. This incident has once again highlighted the law and order situation in the state.
"It is surprising that the incident took place at one of the busiest places in the city and that too on the historic Republic Day when the government claims to have beefed up security arrangements, " he added.
He demanded that this incident should be thoroughly investigated and the conspiracy behind this action needs to be exposed.
