SGPC will start the Khalsa Fateh March from Gurdwara Sri Rakabganj Sahib in Delhi on Sunday, April 16

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will start the Khalsa Fateh March with Panthic (community’s) traditions from Gurdwara Sri Rakabganj Sahib in Delhi on Sunday, April 16, to celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia.

The SGPC has planned various events related to the centenary, under which this Khalsa Fateh March is being organized. The main event of the centenary will be held on May 5 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in Amritsar. Before this, various events are being held in Delhi also.

Sharing information about the centenary events, the SGPC secretaries Partap Singh and Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that the third birth centenary of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, the great General of the Sikh community, is being celebrated by the SGPC as per the Khalsa’s traditions.

They said that under the leadership of SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, various centenary events have been planned by the Sikh body, which will begin on April 16 with the Khalsa Fateh March from Delhi.

The SGPC officials said that the Khalsa Fateh March will start at 9 am from Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, which will reach and rest at Gurdwara Chhote Sahibzade at Fateh Nagar, Delhi, after passing through different places.

They said a Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) is being organised at DDA Ground in Delhi from 5 pm to 12 pm on April 17, in which, the Jathedars of Takht Sahibs, Granthi Singhs (high priests), SGPC President besides various groups of famous raagis, dhadis of the Sikh community will participate.

They said Khalsa Games (Sikh martial arts) will be held at DDA Ground on April 18. The Khalsa Fateh March will resume from Gurdwara Chhote Sahibzade, Fateh Nagar, Delhi for next phase, which will pass through various places in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab and will conclude at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar on May 4. They said that the main event of this centenary will be organized on May 5 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in Amritsar. The preparations for all the events have been completed by the SGPC.
