SGPC takes strong notice of disappearance of first Sikh cop in Pakistan

AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has termed the harassment of minority Sikhs in Pakistan as unfortunate.

He said that according to the news published today, Pakistan's first Sikh police officer The disappearance of Gulab Singh Shaheen by an intelligence agency is an act of repression against minorities.

Advocate Dhami said that even before this there were reports of bullying of minority Sikhs in Pakistan, which made it clear that Sikhs there were insecure.

He said that this phenomenon is not right and the government of any country is responsible for the safety of the people of all communities. The abduction of Gulab Singh Shaheen to an undisclosed location is a matter of fear among Sikhs in Pakistan, which the government there should immediately clarify, he said.
The SGPC president said that if the news was true then it could not be more unfortunate.
