CHANDIGARH: Ravneet Singh Bittu, defeated candidate of BJP from Ludhiana has been inducted in the Narender Modi cabinet. He took oath as Minister of State.
Ravneet Bittu who joined BJP after leaving Congress party was defeated by PPCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Bittu is grand son of former Chief Minister late Beant Singh.
It is understood that Amit Shah had recommended the name of Bittu. Amit Shah during his public rally in Ludhiana had mentioned that Bittu was his friend and he will make him a big man. Though Bittu lost the seat, Amit Shah fulfilled his name. Bittu is seen as future candidate of CM of Punjab in 2027 when BJP will contest the assembly elections at his own.
BJP had increased his vote share from 9 percent to 18 percent which is 6 percent higher than Shiromani Akali Dal. SAD and BJP may go for alliance and BJP would seek the role of bigger brother. SAD-BJP were in alliance for 15 years and SAD had played the role of big player.
