India's Union Minister Ravneet Bittu equates Canada with Pakistan, Congress demands answers from center

CHANDIGARH: Union Minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu today equated Canada with Pakistan and warned Canada that India has the capacity to hit back.

Talking to media at Delhi, Bittu said that Canada was levelling false allegations against India. He said that it seems Canada has replaced Pakistan in matter of sheltering terrorists. He said that India wanted a cordial relations with Canada but false propaganda against Indian government would not be tolerated. He said that India was a developed country now and it has the capacity to hit back.

Bittu was speaking in cotext of Canada government's allegations that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was involved in violent attacks on Sikhs supporting Khalistan on Canadian soil. Indian government has lodged strong protest against blaming Amit Shah for attacks on Sikhs in Canada. The Canadian government had declared Indian high commissioner and five other diplomats 'persons of interest' and wanted to interogate them in the murder case of Khalistani leader Hardip Singh Nijjer. Canada government has also accsued Indian government for sheltering Lawrence Bishnoi gang and using them for violence in Canada.

Meanwhile PPCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring while commenting on Bittu's statement said that Canada has raised questions on center government and it is the duty of center to answer the questions. He said that large number of Punjabis and people from other state reside in Canada and bitter relations between two countries are matter of concern.
