PHAGWARA: Around half dozen armed unidentified assailants reportedly murdered a village youth with sharped weapons in village Akalpur near Phillaur on late Sunday night.
Phillaur DSP Sarwan Singh Bal said as per information, the deceased identified as Jagtar Singh(38) received a phone call from someone and he went out to meet them where the accused attacked upon him with sharped weapons. He was brought to Civil Hospital Phillaur in a pool of blood where he succumbed to his injuries. DSP Bal said the police have registered case under section 302, 34 IPC against unknown killers. P
ersonal enmity was said to be the cause of murder, said DSP Bal.
The deceased is survived by his wife and two kids. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family members after post-mortem examination conducted in Phillaur civil hospital. Hundreds of villagers attended his cremation on Monday Evening.(EOMAshok Kaura Journalist.
