AMRITSAR: Under the esteemed leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, and guided by his visionary approach to shaping the future of learners, Guru Nanak Dev University is forging strong global partnerships by building meaningful bridges with industries, academic institutions, and communities.
Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GJCEI) at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) had the distinct honor of welcoming His Excellency Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, during his official visit to the university campus. Mr. Mathou interacted with startup founders, faculty members, and key stakeholders at the incubation centre. During his visit, Dr. Balwinder Singh, Coordinator of GJCEI, provided a comprehensive overview of the centre’s operations, its achievements, and future vision.
He highlighted the centre’s role in fostering entrepreneurship through mentorship, infrastructure support and collaboration with national and international partners.
Startups incubated at GJCEI also had the opportunity to showcase their innovative products and solutions. Startups including Ms. Divjot Kaur (soya wax candles), Mr. Rohin Kundal (sodium-iron battery), Ms. Smiley Choudhary (mural art), Ms. Nancy Bhola (products from textile waste), and Mr. Rachit Jain showcased their ventures.
The Ambassador showed keen interest in their work and encouraged the budding entrepreneurs to explore global opportunities and collaborations, particularly in France. He particularly in his comments congratulated for setting this very innovative incubators which supports creativity and facilitated market access.
The visit marks a major milestone for GJCEI and further strengthens Indo-French academic and innovation ties. The university authorities expressed their gratitude for the Ambassador’s visit and reiterated their commitment to fostering international partnerships that drive innovation and economic development.
