Dr Vivek Bindra Pleads for the awarding of the Bharat Ratna to Sam Manekshaw.

PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | November 06, 2023 05:08 PM

Renowned motivational speaker and business coach Dr Vivek Bindra recently discussed Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, a respected figure in the Indian Army, in one of his videos. Sam Manekshaw is one of the finest Indian Army officers who has been promoted several times. He is one of the "Most Decorated Generals" in the Indian Army but he hasn't been recognized for the work he has done.

In order to honour this highly decorated officer with the most reputative award of India, “Bharat Ratna”, Dr. Vivek Bindra is now running a campaign on Twitter with hashtags like #RequestByDrVivekBindra and #BharatRatanforSamBahadur. Sam Manekshaw was the bravest soldier in India who took nine bullets in his chest. Some of the amazing stories were told by Dr Vivek Bindra in his video.

Sam Manekshaw called Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as Sweety

Sam Manekshaw was the only person who called Sweety to the Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. He not only answered her question without fear but also Indira Gandhi himself paid attention to his advice. For instance, Indira Gandhi was told by his ministers that just as Pakistan Army officers overthrow the power of the country, in the same way, Sam Manekshaw can overthrow the power of Indira Gandhi.

After hearing this, Indira Gandhi called Sam Manekshaw and asked him clearly about his power to overthrow the government. When asked about his opinion, Indira Gandhi said, “You will not be able to do it”. In revert, Manekshaw said, “I can take on the power but I will not do it”. He continues by saying, “We should mind our own business. I will not interfere in your politics and you will not interfere in my Army Work”

Sam Manekshaw helped Pakistanis which led to Controversy

Sam Manekshaw was not only a great leader but also a great human being. He never raised weapons in front of Children and Women. He also behaves humanely with his enemies. During the India-Pakistan War, he not only gave shelter to 90, 000 Pakistani soldiers in Prisoner of War but also surrendered to humanity.

He gave them permanent houses to live in while the Indian soldiers themselves used to sleep outside in the fields. Earlier, food was also given to Pakistani soldiers. They were also given full opportunity to read the Quran and change themselves. Sam Manekshaw had to face a lot of criticism for his humane behaviour towards his enemies.

Injustice Against Sam Manekshaw By the Indian Army and Goverment

Even though Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw did so much for the nation, he didn't get the recognition he deserved. After he retired, it seemed like the government ignored him because he was not a people pleaser, even though he was supposed to receive certain benefits until he passed away in 2008. He was the most senior officer, but when he died, not many people paid attention. Surprisingly, the Defense Minister, Prime Minister, senior Chief Ministers, and leaders of the defence services didn't attend his funeral. Even Army Chief Deepak Kapoor and Chief of Staff Committee Suresh Mehta didn't offer condolences. It was their responsibility to show respect.

Dr Vivek Bindra wanted every individual in the Nation to know about the courage and bravery of Sam Manekshaw. To know more about it, watch this video at Dr. Vivek Bindra: Motivational Speaker.
