AMRITSAR: Condemning the terrorist attack on the tourists in Pahalgam as ‘cowardly’, 'brutal', and 'inhuman', the Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India, held a prayer meeting to express solidarity with the families of the victims. The meeting brought together members of the Christian community to offer comfort, peace, and strength to those affected by this senseless act of violence. The event featured prayers, hymns, and messages of condolence.
The Right Reverend Manoj Charan, Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India, expressed his deep sadness and heartbreak over the tragic incident. He urged the Government of India to intervene and ensure justice for the families of the victims as soon as possible.
“May the Almighty grant eternal rest to the departed souls and bring comfort to those in mourning, ” said Bishop Charan. “Let us unite in faith and compassion, and continue to stand together against all forms of violence and hatred, ” he added.
Quoting Isaiah 40:1, “Comfort, comfort my people” from the Old Testament of the Holy Bible Bishop Manoj Charan appealed to the congregation to stand together in faith and compassion, offering comfort and support to those affected by the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and praying for peace, healing, and strength for the victims and their families.
He reiterated the Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India's commitment to continuing its efforts to promote peace, love, and compassion in the face of violence and hatred through its spiritual, social outreach, and academic initiatives.
The prayer meeting was attended by the members of the Christian community, the clergy, and office bearers of the diocese, who came together to stand in solidarity with the victims' families.
