AMRITSAR: Baba Balbir Singh Akali 96 Crori Chief of Nihang Singhs has took a strong notice of this discriminatory and sensitive incident and said that there is a violation of the Constitution and Amritdhari is offensive to Sikhs and Sikhs are being made to feel like second-class citizens.
In a statement here today he said that cases of playing with the religious sentiments of Sikhs are constantly coming up in the country.
He said that it is sad that the governments are not taking any exemplary action against those who do this. Rather, such unfortunate incidents are happening everywhere.
He said that within the Constitution of India every citizen of the country has the freedom to live his life with his religious beliefs and freedom. It is mandatory for the baptized Sikhs of the Sikh religion to wear Guru Bakshish Panj Kakar and this is allowed by the Constitution of India. Nihang Mukhi said that recently the Ministry of Aviation allowed the ordained Sikh workers to wear Kirpan at the airports of India. A ban notification was issued, which was strongly opposed by the Shromani Panth, Akali Budha Dal and other Sikh organisations.
Now, at a Jhilmil Metro station in Delhi, an amritdhari Sikh was prevented from entering by a CISF personnel along with a Kirpan, a tragic and unfortunate incident that hurt religious sentiments. He said that the government should take strict action against the guilty employees.
In this matter, they have asked the Ministry of Home Affairs of India and the Delhi Government to ensure the protection of the rights of Sikhs by taking immediate action.
