Move to hand over Indian agriculture to imperialist powers - Ugrahan, Kokri
CHANDIGARH: According to reliable sources, an official trade delegation of the US government is visiting India for five days. Taking strong note of this visit of the highest imperialist power, Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Ugrahan) has raised the slogan of ' Go back, American delegation! '.
Giving this information in a joint statement the president of the organization Joginder Singh Ugrahan and general secretary Sukhdev Singh Kokri Kalan have said that the aim of this delegation is to finalise the Indo-US bilateral trade agreement, under which import duties on American goods will be drastically reduced. The US has already announced to impose heavy taxes on goods imported from India from April 2 .
This imperialist agreement is to be concluded by twisting the arm of the Indian government through such pressure. Due to its pro-imperialist character, the Modi government is bowing down to the American imperialism . Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has discussed this agreement during his 7-day American visit and is praising it occasionally . The agenda of goods related to the agricultural sector is of most priority in this agreement. With the conclusion of this agreement, India has to reduce taxes on American agricultural products including meat, nuts, whiskey, fat-free milk, soybeans, corn and wheat, poultry and dairy products etc., and these agricultural products will have imperial supremacy in the Indian market. There are also many crops that India has banned from entering India to protect them from being looted .
The opening of the Indian market for these products through this agreement will mean that the crisis in the country's agricultural sector will deepen further. There will be blind looting of farmers' crops at more cheaper rates and there will be even more huge increases in the farm loans that are already forcing farmers and laborers to commit suicides. The farmer leaders have said that the organization will expose the Modi government's so-called patriotism in its public programs with reference to the anti-national step of the Modi government to bow down to the American imperialism by welcoming such an imperialist delegation. A strong voice will be raised to stop such new treaties with imperialist countries and to cancel the anti-national treaties made earlier.
