NEW DELHI: Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) strongly rebuffed the duplicity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in abolishing reservation in employment for people belonging to Dalits, Adivasis and other backward communities that constitute the huge majority of the population by implementing the pro-corporate policies.
Modi is pretending as the savior of reservation for SC/ST/OBC but actually betrayed them by acting contrary during the last ten years rule. Modi Government did not enact law for reservation in the private sector.
The brutal no recruitment policy has resulted in 30 lakh vacancies in the departments and the public sector enterprises under the Union Government. The widespread privatization of the public sector including railways, airways, shipyards, steel, banks, insurance, power, defense etc. eliminated the rights of the backward sections to get employment opportunities in lakhs. The contractualization of regular employment has resulted in loss of job opportunities as well as negation of the rights for minimum wage, job security, social security including pension and eight hours work.
SKM appeals to all sections of the people including farmers and workers to question the false narrative on reservation and the sinister efforts to polarize on communal lines by violating the model code of conduct and the principles of secular democracy enshrined in the constitution of India.
SKM urges all sections of the people to expose this duplicity of the Prime Minister and BJP as part of the campaign to expose, oppose, punish BJP.
