Screening of more than 2.5 lakh people in Kapurthala under Mission Fateh-2

KAPURTHALA: Under the Punjab Government's Mission Fateh-2, teams from the Health Department screened more than 2.5 lakh people from May 22 to June 4 to curb the spread of covid in rural areas.

The main purpose of the screening was to check the symptoms of covid in the public to prevent the covid from spreading further.

A total of 1408 people with covid symptoms were identified during the screening and were told by health professionals about the necessary medication, counseling and covid prevention.

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that the Mission Fateh-2 was launched in District Kapurthala under which 14380 houses were surveyed on the first day of May 22 and 67762 people were screened. Similarly, till June 4, a total of 54808 households were reached and 254277 people were screened, out of which 1408 were people with covid symptoms.

A total of 7783 people were tested for covid during the campaign, out of which 37 positive cases were found while 7509 were negative. The rest of the results are pending. Victory kits have also been given to all the positive people.

The Deputy Commissioner said that this campaign also covered remote villages where it was very difficult to go and it was also difficult for people to come for the test.

Testing at Mand Baupur across Beas River

A team from the health department visited Mand Baupur village beyond river beas.

Under the leadership of Mohanpreet Singh SMO Tibba the team has also reached Mand Baupur, an island village bordering the Beas River. Sampling was done by a team of 4 health workers at Mand Baupur by boat so that health care could be delivered to every person.
