1} Tell us something about your journey?
ANS The acting bug hit me early in life, as I was born in Hyderabad and raised in Punjab as the daughter of an Airforce Officer. I was five years old when I was thrust in front of the camera for some print ads and a cameo in a mythical television show. My parents were aware that this girl had it in her, but they did not encourage me to pursue a career as a kid artist. Who knew my passion for cameras, lighting, and films would develop to such proportions as I grew up? I finished my grade and went right to work on it. My career has been utterly joyful and good, from auditioning for Miss India Global International Glitter Pageant in 2004 to working in cinema. I'm looking forward to the unexpected turns my life will take. I believe I am prepared. It is my ambition to work in the film industry till my last breath and to make the most of my life. Working in the Punjabi sector makes me feel at home, and everyone I encounter, good or bad, teaches me something new. I'm new, but I have the perspective that I need to make my trip memorable so that one day if I'm worthy enough to be the subject of a biopic, my story will sound like a smash movie. Hahaha.
2- Did you always want to be an actor or was something another profession in your mind?
ANS - I've always wanted to be an actress because I've always been fascinated by television and the big screen. The process of making a picture, how individuals with diverse skill sets and ideas came together, the huge sets, costumes, and lighting, everything appealed to me. When everyone in school was choosing between being a doctor, an engineer, or a scientist, I used to wonder why I should pick one when I could play a doctor in one film and a scientist in another. It was my concept to become everything at the same time. So, no matter how difficult it was to attain, I always put this vocation first.
3- As an actor how difficult is it for you to maintain your fitness regime
ANS- Being raised in a Punjabi household, I suffer from my sweet craving issues, and switching from parathas and puris to salads and oats is tremendous pain. But I'm extremely pleased with myself for what I've accomplished with it. I've developed a really good eating habit, and I've become more organized and a gym rat. That's what abs do to you. There's no turning back once you notice the improvements in your physique after you workout and your outfits fit you better. Yes, it's tough to stick to that while I'm shooting since my sleep habits, food, and regularity all vary during that time, but I make an effort to appear on point and work a little because it makes me feel better.
4] Tell us about your experience working with actors in the movie Fuffadji?
ANS- This question brings back so many fun memories from the sets while we were shooting it. Firstly, I'm very close to Gurnam and we share a very healthy friendship. I've worked with him before in SAUHREYA DA PIND [yet to be released] where I first met him but I was a fan of his song 'diamond' for a long time. So I didn't think much before accepting fuffadji coz it was opposite him. A lovely family drama I could relate to and I saw almost everyone relating to the story. I was waiting for a big team and I got all in one. With Binnu Ji and Pankaj sir directing it, I was a bit nervous at first but everyone made me so comfortable and we used to have loads of fun. Gurnam and I laughed, played pranks on set. That was one heck of an experience to pull off an entire film as the female lead with such big stars. I learned so much from them and they also used to help me with my dialect. To play PAALI, a young, innocent, shy girl in the village who balances the relationship she has with her husband and her uncle was fun with all that family NOK-JHOK.
5]Tell us about your upcoming project Khao Piyo Aish Karo
ANS- MY film KHAO PIYO ASH KARO with Tarsem Jassar which was supposed to be my first lead film got delayed and fuffadji became the one, would be releasing soon and it's a complete laughter riot. I enjoyed working in it and I feel positive about it. We shot the entire film in a pind which was so beautiful. The film is full of colors and I play a girl who works at a sewing center. She's fun, lovable, cheerful, moody, and strong-headed and I'm sure people will love her. Tarsem Ji, Ksshitij sir, Ranjit Bawa Ji they all were so friendly and warm on set that I still miss those days.
6]Do you feel Punjabi Industry has less competition than the Bollywood industry?
ANS- No, any industry or be it any profession you work in has a lot of competition these days. People have become so fast, and this profession is so approachable and dreamt by many that everything here is replaceable. If Bollywood has so much competition they also have a large industry to fill up. It's easy to get chances there. Here., the industry is small and teams are not very open to freshers. Even the audience here wants to see their favorites so making a mark is difficult here.
7] Sharing Screen space with big actors dies it gets difficult for you or is always convenient
ANS- It depends on who I'm working with, but the industry has always been quite accepting and nice to me, so it's not that difficult. Furthermore, my self-assurance is constantly with me. I was never terrified to face a famous actor, and I was more excited than nervous since I admired what they had to offer. I've learned a lot just by watching other people. I was always really delighted to share the screen space, whether it was Amy Virk in front of me, Binnu Dhillon Ji, or any other major actress, and it showed.
8] You are seen showing off your marvelous acting skills in Punjabi Industry and Music albums, do we see anytime you making a mark as the lead in the Bollywood industry?
ANS- I've always been a big Bollywood fan, and it was only after seeing Shah Rukh Khan on film that I decided to pursue a career as an actor. LOL. I was looking forward to meeting him. I've always wanted to be in Bollywood. I believe I would be able to do a lot more and completely showcase my creativity and talents to a worldwide audience. However, it must occur at the appropriate moment. Come, conquer, and stay is my top priority. So I'm searching for the appropriate launch, which will undoubtedly occur shortly. I have a lot of offers; all I have to do is accept one. Mukesh Chabbra is a close friend and a mentor, and I have entire faith in him to get me into the industry with the connections. I'm delighted about everything that is occurring in Bollywood, especially given how OTT platforms are booming.
Until then, I'm concentrating on improving myself.
