SAD candidate from Jalandhar Surjit Kaur who joined AAP in morning, rejoined SAD in evening

AAP says she was pressurised by rebel SAD leaders
JALANDHAR: Surjit Kaur the SAD candidate from Jalandhar west seat for bye-election today made surprise turn arounds. She joined the AAP in the morning and by evening she returned to SAD. She is contesting on SAD symbol even as SAD had snapped ties with her.

Surjit Kaur was supported by rebel Akal Dal leaders after SAD president disowned her and asked her to withdraw her nomination in favour of BSP candidate.

In the morning she was welcomed by CM Bhagwant Mann welcomed Surjit Kaur in AAP and announced that she would be given important position in the party. She however rejoined SAD when rebel SAD leaders approached her.

Reacting to the U-turn of Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Surjit Kaur from Jalandhar West, Aam Aadmi Party said that rebel leaders of Akali Dal have pressurized Surjit Kaur, that is why she changed her decision.

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Jagtar Singh Sanghera said that Shiromani Akali Dal has ceased to exist in Punjab. Now it is not even in a position to field its candidate. He said that Akali Dal people are campaigning that people should not vote for the election symbol of scales and their rebel faction is saying that people should vote for the same election symbol. Worried by this doubt, Bibi Surjit Kaur left the party.

He said that after declaring Surjit Kaur as their candidate, the Akali Dal is telling their people to support the Bahujan Samaj Party. If this was to be done then why did they field a candidate? He said that the Akali Dal itself is responsible for this condition. They cannot blame anyone for this.
