CHANDIGARH: The Congress party today suspended senior party leader and Phillaur MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary for anti-party activities. He is son of former MP and minister late Santokh Singh Chaudhary.
Karamjit Kaur mother of Vikram Chaudhary had last week joined BJP after party denied her the Lok Sabha ticket and instead fielded former CM Charanjit Singh Channi. Both Karamjit Kaur and Vikram Chaudhary opposed the candidature of Channi being an outsider. Karamjit Kaur was demanding ticket for her. She said her husband had sacrified life for the party.
Vikram Chaudhary had issued public statements against Channi and described him corrupt and morallt dishonest person. The IACC incharge of Punjab Devender Yadav in a communication to Chaudhary said that you had issued objectionable statements against the party candidate. He suspended Chaudhary till further orders.
