AMRITSAR: Congress Lok Sabha candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla filed nomination papers for Lok Sabha today. During this, the entire leadership of the District Congress was present with him, apart from former All India Congress Committee Secretary and Special observer of Punjab Harish Chaudhary and former Deputy CM OP Soni.
Before filing nomination papers, Gurjeet Singh Aujla along with his wife Undleeb Kaur bowed down at Sri Harmandir Sahib. After that Gurjeet Singh along with his mother, father, wife and children reached Palah Sahib Gurudwara to pay obeisance and asked for strength to serve Amritsar.
Crowd gathered for Aujla
A huge crowd gathered in the road show organized by Gurjeet Singh Aujla, who was a two-time MP and very close to winning for the third time, before filing his nomination papers. Apart from a large number of Congress workers, common people also welcomed him. As soon as Gurjeet Singh came out of Aujla on the truck, people showered him with flowers and wished him good luck.
Thanking people for their love and trust, Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that Guru Nagari is his own city and it is his duty to keep working for his city. The love he has earned in the last seven years is visible to him today and he has full hope that this time too people will show faith in him and make Congress win with huge votes.
Harish Chaudhary appealed for vote to Congress
He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has forced the farmers to struggle and disappointed the soldiers by giving schemes like Agniveer. Along with this, the ever-increasing drug addiction is also taking the lives of farmers and soldiers. Farmers are continuously fighting for their rights, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not consider it necessary to know their condition even once. He said the government has also failed in its promise of doubling farmers' income by 2024. He said that when the Congress government comes to power, the minimum support price on every crop will be increased as per the recommendations of Swami Nathan. Agniveer scheme will be discontinued and regular recruitment in the army will be done. One lakh rupee will be given to a poor girl of the family. 50% jobs will be reserved for women. He said that if you get treatment in any hospital, there will be an insurance of Rs 25 lakh. He said that at this time it is very important to give victory to Congress to save the Constitution of the country and to bring victory to the country. Davinder Yadav said that at present the atmosphere in the country is in Favor of Congress. People are upset with the atrocities of BJP and want to give the same progress to the country which was achieved under the rule of Congress party after independence.
