INDIANAPOLIS: American-Danish singer-songwriter, composer and actress Anita Lerche has been nominated for the Best International Artist Award for the UK Bhangra Awards 2022.
She says "So grateful to everyone who voted for me and made this happen. It is truly humbling that this is actually the fifth time I have been nominated for the UK Bhangra Awards (including two wins for Best International Artist 2017 and Special Contribution Award 2019.
The UK Bhangra Awards 2022 is going to take place 17th December live online.
Anita who is known as Heer from Denmark, thanked her loyal fans who have supported her Punjabi singing career since the very beginning in 2005. "Your ongoing support is deeply appreciated."
Anita is among the seven nominees for the Best International Artist Award.
AP Dhillon has been nominated from India. Other artists in the race are: Deep Brar (USA), F1rstman (Netherlands), Kamal Chopra (Malaysia), Luv Randhawa (Canada) and Richi Madan.
TThe 25 prestigious awards categories covering the entire industry are; Best Publication, Best Website, Best Bhangra Fitness, Best Radio Presenter, Best TV Presenter, Best Mela, Best DJ Roadshow, Best Dhol Artist, Best Dance Group, Best Songwriter, Best Music Producer, Best Musician, Best Band, Best Record Label, Best Video Producer, Best Music Video, Best Single, Best Album, Best Urban Artist, Best Newcomer, Best Female Singer, Best Male Singer, Best International Artist, Special Contribution Award, Lifetime Achievement Award.
The winners will be announced on December 11 live online, with award presentations taking place soon after at an exclusive Winners Party in Birmingham.
