KAPURTHALA: A US based NRI woman who was on visit to Kapurthala to see his in-laws was allegedlhy murdered by her in-law parents. The police has arrested the father-in-law and mother-in-law of the deceased woman.
The deceased woman has been identified as Rajdeep Kaur (30). She was married to Manjinder Singh of Nano Malian in Kapurthala district for the last seven years. The couple was living in USA with their five year old son.
After report of death of Rajdeep Kaur under mysterious circumstances reached the mother of the deceased, Nirmal Kaur living in UK, she rushed to India and reported the matter to police. She accused that her daughter was murdered. The police during investigation interogated the father-in-law of Rajdeep Kaur who confessed to crime.
Nirmal Kaur said that they belonged to Mokhewal village in Jalandhar district. She alleged that her daughter was called from USA on the pretex of attending a marriage. The accused were pressurising Rajdeep Kaur to transfer her property in their name. The accused throttled her to death.
Sultanpur Lodhi police has arrested the in-law parents of the deceased woman.
