Two travel agents booked for duping Nakodar villager of Rs 58.15 Lakhs

PHAGWARA: The Nakodar city police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a Nakoda villager of Rs.58.15 lakhs on the pretext of sending him and his family abroad.

DSP Nakodar Sukhpal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Harwindar Singh a resident of Chak Kalan village and Balwindar Singh Bhatia a resident of Pasham Vihar, Delhi.

Hardev Singh a resident of Ramu Wal village under Mehatpur Police station complained to the police that he paid Rs 58.15 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his and his family's migration abroad but he nor his family was not sent abroad nor returned the money.

DSP said that a case under sections 318(4) (cheating), and 316(2) (criminal breach of trust ) of the BNS and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused.
