Truck owner among five booked for kidnapping driver

PHAGWARA: The Nakodar Sadar police have booked five persons including a truck owner on the charge of kidnapping a truck driver.

Investigating officer (IO) Tirath Ram said the accused had been identified as Manish, a resident of Kamal Pura village in the Kaithal district of Haryana state, Ram Bhajan, and their three unidentified accomplices.
Balkar Singh, a resident of the Kaithal district of Haryana State, complained to the police that he was the driver of a truck owned by Manish. On December 20 evening, he was coming to Nakodar from Jalandhar, stopped at a Dhaba to take food, and slept in the truck.

The complainant said the truck owner Manish, Ram Bhajan, and their three unidentified accomplices reached the spot assaulted kidnapped him and took him to Kaithal where he was beaten.

IO said a case under section 140(3) (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) 351(2)(criminal intimidation ) and 190(unlawful assembly ) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
