Thieves Flee After Breaking Car Window of car, Stealing Cash and Jewelry Worth Lakhs of NRI

PHAGWARA: Unidentified thieves broke the window of a car parked outside a prominent roadside eatery on GT Road near Phagwara, making off with cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees belonging to a NRI Sandeep Singh.

The victim, Sandeep Singh, a resident of Kolgarh village in Nawanshahr district, stated that he was returning from Jalandhar after purchasing medicine. He stopped at the Lucky Dhaba near Phagwara to have a meal, parking his car outside. During this time, an unidentified person smashed the car window and stole around ₹1.5 lakh in cash and gold jewellery from inside the vehicle.

Sandeep Singh, an NRI who had come to India from Italy for medical treatment, mentioned that while he was returning from the hospital with his medical reports, he stopped at the dhaba for a meal, during which the theft occurred. He reported a total loss of around ₹2.5 to 3 lakh due to the incident. The police have been informed, and CCTV footage from the scene reportedly shows a young man lingering near the car.
