CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its ongoing campaign against corruption on Thursday registered a bribery case against ASI Karam Singh (1131/Ferozpur), incharge police post Mudduki, police station Ghall Khurd, Ferozpur district.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the state Vigilance Bureau (VB) informed that this case has been registered on the complaint of Mukhtiar Singh of village Chandar, in Ferozepur district.
The complainant has lodged his plaint on anti corruption toll-free helpline and alleged that he has filed a complaint at the Muduki police post to recover money from a person to whom he has sold his cow.
The complainant further informed that the accused ASI Karam Singh was demanding Rs.5000 as a bribe to settle his complaint case through mutual agreement.
The spokesperson further informed that after investigation of the facts in the complaint and the material evidence in this regard the VB has registered a bribery case against the accused ASI after finding him guilty for taking bribe from the complainant.
In this regard a case under prevention of corruption act at VB police station Ferozpur has been registered and further investigation is under progress.
