PHAGWARA: All Lawyers belonging to "The Bar Association Phagwara " today observed a "No Work Day" in protest of the long-standing neglecting behaviour by the authorities concerning the construction of a new judicial complex in Phagwara and the renovation of the existing court complex.
Bar Association Phagwara President Karanjot Singh Jhikka, Senior Advocates Lalit Chopra, Vijay Sharma and Munish Sareen said, Over the past several years, the Bar Association has been repeatedly submitting numerous representations and applications to the appropriate authorities. Despite our continuous efforts, there has been no meaningful response or action taken to address the concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the existing court complex, which is not only obsolete but poses significant challenges for the Bar, litigants, and the administration of justice.
Bar Association President Jhikka said the failure to provide a new judicial complex and renovate the existing infrastructure has caused severe inconvenience and hardship to the members of the Bar and the general public.
He said though The Bar Association, Phagwara , has consistently followed up with the authorities, yet all representations have been ignored, leaving us with no other option but to express our strong discontent.
Jhikka expressed his hope that this protest will draw attention to the urgent need for the construction of a new judicial complex and the renovation of the existing court building, and that our long-standing demands will finally be addressed with the seriousness they deserve.
