PHAGWARA: The Lohian Khas police have arrested Resham Lal, a resident of Tahli village under Nakodar Sadar police station, and his wife Manjit Kaur on the charges of dowry harassment and assault.
Joti daughter of Parkash Singh a resident of Seechewal village had complained to the police that she was being tortured for dowry ever since her marriage in 2023 and beaten by in-laws.
Investigating officer Balwindar Singh said a case under section 85(torturing woman for dowry) 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 3(5) (committing a crime with common intention) of the BNS was registered against the accused
and their son.
