Kapurthala Police solves a murder case in record time

PHAGWARA: In a swift and commendable operation, the Kapurthala Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr. Goarav Toora, IPS, solved the murder case of Lakhwinder Singh within 24 hours. The investigative team, including Police Captain Mr. Sarabjit Rai, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mr. Deep Karan Singh, Deputy Police Captain Mr. Parminder Singh, and Inspector Jarnail Singh (In-Charge, CIA Staff Kapurthala), worked tirelessly to bring the accused to justice.

SSP Toora while talking to this correspondent told on Thursday Evening that Lakhwinder Singh, a resident of Phulowal, Kapurthala, was brutally attacked by two unidentified individuals near the cremation ground in Danwind village while heading to work. The assailants struck him on the head with a stick, inflicting critical injuries.

An FIR was initially registered under Sections 126(2), 118(1), and 3(5) BNS at Police Station Kotwali, Kapurthala, based on a statement by the victim’s brother, Balwinder Singh.

Tragically, Lakhwinder succumbed to his injuries on January 14 at Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar. The case was subsequently reclassified as murder under Sections 103 and 61(2) BNS, said SSP Toora.

He told that during the investigation, police uncovered a shocking conspiracy involving Lakhwinder’s wife, Tamanna, who confessed to orchestrating her husband’s murder. Police also identified and arrested her and her accomplice, Kuldeep Kumar@ Reepa resident of Piplawala temple Hoshiarpur., who played a key role in the crime.

SSP Toora said the investigation revealed that Tamanna and Kuldeep developed a romantic extra-marital relationship via social media over the past year. Kuldeep, who had a history of criminal activity, pressured Tamanna to eliminate her husband so they could marry. Despite Lakhwinder’s demanding work schedule, Tamanna maintained contact with Kuldeep and plotted the murder.The arrested Kuldip was facing three criminal cases registered against him in Hoshiarpur, said Toora.
