RCED organized an awareness program on PM Employment Generation Program

CHANDIGARH: The Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), on behalf of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Government of India, in collaboration with DIC Chandigarh, UT KVIB, and PNB Lead Bank, organized an Awareness Program on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

The session commenced with an introductory address by Ms. Pragati Katoch, Faculty at RCED, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, including Mr. Joginder Kumar Bhutani, Financial Literacy Counsellor at SBI’s Regional Office, Chandigarh; Mr. Praveen Kumar from KVIC, Chandigarh; and young entrepreneurs Mr. Kabir Gaba, Founder of PolarPaws Kennelsand Ms. Mehak Kaur, Founder of NextMed Startup.

Joginder Kumar Bhutani delivered an insightful session on entrepreneurship, discussing the vast job opportunities available in the market and the benefits of the PMEGP scheme. This was followed by Mr. Praveen Kumar from KVIC, Chandigarh, who elaborated on the advantages of the scheme. Entrepreneurs Mr. Kabir Gaba and Ms. Mehak Kaur shared their inspiring journeys detailing their experiences of starting and growing their ventures.

As a token of appreciation, Mr. Praveen Kumar presented planters to Dr. Rama Arora, Principal and Dr. Deepshikha, Dean, of the college.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Jasleen Kaur, Project Director, RCED, who acknowledged the contributions of the college staff, including Dr. Karuna Babber, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Mohanlal Sharma, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Professional Studies, for their support in organizing the program. With the participation of 100 students, the program served as an excellent platform to educate and inspire young minds, foster entrepreneurial spirit, and empower them with the knowledge to leverage the opportunities provided by the PMEGP scheme.
