Khalsa College Women celebrated their Teej festival

AMRITSAR: Punjab is known all over the world for its rich heritage and culture, where every religion and heritage related community celebrates the day and festival together throughout the year.

She said that the festival of Teej holds great importance in the hearts of Punjabis, this traditional festival is full of joy and excitement for all and especially for women. The Teej festival marks the onset of monsoon.

She said that the students and staff, dressed in traditional dress, expressed their happiness by performing gidha, boliyas, folk songs, swinging sticks and applying henna.

On this occasion Dr. Surinder Kaur said that the festival of teej is celebrated by the college with great enthusiasm and full of enthusiasm in cultural costumes. She said that the festival of teej is celebrated on the third day of the light side of the month of Sawan, which is also called 'Sawni teej ' or 'Haryali teej '. Relieving the sweltering heat, scorching heat and dry environment of the month of Ahar, the month of Sawan (rain) brings with it cool winds, rain and greenery. At this time nature is in its full vigor and beauty and all the animals can be seen celebrating this abundance of nature.
She said that while enjoying the beauty and abundance of green nature all around with birds flying in the open sky, peacocks crowing, trees full of fruits, gardens full of flowers and all around, people celebrate this festival as a festival of tea.

She said that henna and beautification ceremonies were performed by the staff and students in the college.

The faculty members sat on the tree decorated with flowers in the humus season and spoke with full enthusiasm and enthusiasm on the season of Savan and expressed the joy of the season of Savan.

On this occasion Mrs. Chhina and Mr. Surinder Kaur jointly told that the students have kept alive the customs and traditions of Punjab's civilization in the educational institutions.

On this occasion, the students and staff made the atmosphere happy by throwing stones, pulling jokes on each other, singing Punjabi songs and sayings.

He appealed to the social workers, institutes, colleges and school principals who love Punjabi heritage and said that they should keep doing such efforts from time to time so that these festivals associated with our customs can survive.
Dr. Surinder Kaur also honored Mrs. Chhina by presenting phulkari, bouquet and memento.
