PU judokas clinch two golds in Varsities Judo

CHANDIGARH: Hosts Panjab University claimed two gold medals decided on the opening day of the All India Inter University Judo (Men) Championship being held at Panjab University here today.

Sunil Kumar clinched the first gold for Panjab University by beating Ashish Malik (Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak) in the 90 kg category final. Amit Dhull emerged champion at the expense of Ajay of Guru Jambeshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar) in the 100 kg final bout for second gold for Panjab University, Chandigarh
Around 111 universities from different states are participating in the championship.
90 kg: 1 Sunil Kumar ( Panjab University, Chandigarh), 2 Ashish Malik (Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak), 3 Tajbir Singh (Punjabi University, Patiala) and Shivam Salman (Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar).
100 kg: 1 Amit Dhull (Panjab University, Chandigarh), Ajay ( Guru Jambeshwar University of Science & Technology Hisar), 3 Rohit (f Kurukshetra University-Kurukshetra) and Tarun Sharma (Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar)
