21-member Indian team for IAAF World U20 Championships

CHANDIGARH: India is fielding a 21-member team in the  IAAF World U20 Championships to be held in Tampere, southern Finnish city, from July 10 to 15.  It will be the one of the largest editions in the history of these championships.
With the deadline for the final entries now closed, a total of 1466 athletes --782 men and 684 women-- representing 160 federations and teams have been entered. Only the 2012 edition in Barcelona, with 1566 athletes, and the 2016 edition in Bydgoszcz, with 1545 athletes competing, have witnessed larger gatherings.
The provisional entries were announced by the IAAF today.
Anikit with his personal and season's timing of  3:47.09 seconds will appear in the 1500m race. Gaurav Kumar (46.93 seconds, personal and season's best) will compete in one lap race. He has also entered inn the 4x400 metres relay squad.

Saneesh (4 x 100 m relay), Scidanandh Nithin (4 x 100 m relay), Akash Kumar (4 x 100 m relay), Kartik Kumar (10,000 m), Beant Singh (800 m), Ashish Bholothia (shot put, 6kg), Ashish Jakhar (hammer throw, 6 kg), Kangaraj Kamalraj (triple jump), Sathyanatan Lokesh (long jump), Sahil Silwal (javelin throw), Arshdeep Singh (javelin throw), Damneet Singh (hammer throw, 6 kg) and M Sreeshankar (long jump).
