UDHAM SINGH WALA ( SUNAM)School education and public works minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Friday, paid floral tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh on the account of his 81st martyrdom day here at Sunam Udham Singh Wala. The state level function has been cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir, SSP Dr. Sandeep Garg, Chairman Rajinder Singh Raja Bir Kalan, Daaman Thind Bajwa and several others also paid tributes to the martyr.
The cabinet minister said that after the formation of government in Punjab in 2017, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh got the construction plan worth Rs. 2.62 crore finalized as per the demand of local residents. He added that though the construction work hampered due to Covid-19 but it would be completed before September 30, 2020. He added that now a museum will also be constructed at the place of Open Air Theatre where the belongings of Shaheed Udham Singh will be kept.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said apart from the construction of museum, the Punjab government will coordinate with union government to bring back the belongings of Shaheed Udham Singh from London. He added that besides coordination with central government, every possible option would be explored to bring his pistol, diaries etc. back to Punjab.
On this occasion, SDM Sunam Manjit Kaur, Harmandev Singh Bajwa and several others were also present.
