CHANDIGARH: Punjab government has decided to allow opening of all shops from 7 AM to 6 PM from May 15. Earlier shops were opened from 7 am to 3 PM. All Deputy Commissioners have issued orders in this regard.
In the state capital Chandigarh, the shops are already opening from 9 am to 6 PM and lock down is lifted from 7 AM to 7 PM. In fact Punjab should have taken this decisi0on much earlier because longer the period of shopping, lesser will be crowd in markets.
It is also claimed that government has granted relaxation in timings due to objections raised by liquor vend owners whow were not ready to open shops for short period and demanded longer period for opening vends.
