Out of 416 samples' results received in the district late this evening , 411 were negative

NAWANSHAHR:Five cases were positive, including four from Canada, Delhi, Bihar and UP
Today, after five patients recovered, the total number of active cases was 10
Out of 416 samples' results received in the district late last night and this evening, 411 were found negative while four persons, one each from Canada, Delhi, Bihar and UP and a woman from the district, were found positive. At the same time after the discharge of five patients from the district on their recovery from the hospital, the total number of active cases in the district has come down to 10.

Giving this information, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Bhatia said that out of these positive cases, Harkanwal Singh (24), a resident of Mehtapur, had returned from Canada on June 14 and was kept in a state isolation facility at KC College. Similarly, Davinder Kumar, 60, of ward no 15, Balachaur, returned from Delhi on June 15 and was confined to his home. Of the other three, Bineshwar Mehto was in touch with another migrant Amarnath, who tested positive a few days ago and is from Bihar. He was living at a tubewell room outside the village in Ratanda. The second case is that of Narendra, who was a contact of a Punjab police official found positive a few days back. Similarly, the third case is that of Amandeep Kumar, who came from UP to Rail Majra.
He said that with these five new cases, 123 positive cases have been reported in the district so far while 20 cases pertaining to other districts / states were different and were not included in the district by the government.
According to Bhatia, so far 7840 samples have been taken in the district out of which results of 324 are yet to be received while 7081 have been found negative.
