Mansa doing exceptionally well in taking care of 'Gauvansh'-Kimti Bhagat

MANSA: Chairman of Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, Kimti Bhagat today visited cattle pound at Khokhar Kalan village in Mansa. He appreciated the works being done by the district administration and announced to help the gaushalas of Mansa district.  

Later he held meeting of different government department officials at Bachat Bhawan wherein the attendants and caretakers of various cattle pounds were also present.

Apart from making everyone aware of the new schemes, Bhagat also noted down the problems and resolved some of them of on the spot.

He gave special instructions to the Municipal Council to release the money collected in the shape of Cow Cess and to further release the same for the overall development of the cattle pounds.

The Chairman announced that nearly 50 percent of the cattle pounds in Punjab are doing well while 8 to 10 are doing fairly while 5 are exceptionally good in their working.

He pointed out that the cattle pounds of Mansa, Bathinda, Fazilka, Muktsar and Pathankot districts are doing exceptionally good while taking care of the gauvansh.   

He categorically stated that there is no dearth of the diligent and honest workers in gaushala in Mansa. “Even the government servants and senior officials are playing a brilliant role in helping the cows,” he said. He stated that slaughtering and smuggle of cows in Mansa is also negligible where the government money and the amount raised from the social workers is spent quite judiciously.

He pointed out that recently a cattle shed was constructed with an expenditure of mere Rs 9 lakhs in Mansa whereas some other districts have spent money to the tune of Rs 25 lakhs. “I have conducted enquiries and recently got cases registered for fraudulently misusing money in other districts,” he said.

Mr. Kimti Bhagat later met D.C. Mansa Mr. Dharam Pal Gupta to discuss various ways and means for the betterment of cattle pounds in Mansa.

ADC (G) GPS Sahota, ADC (D) Amardeep Singh Gujral, SP Narinder Pal Singh, DDPO Mrs Baljeet Kaur, Dy. Director Mr. Surjit Singh Makkar, Member Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Mr. Jagtar Singh Joga,  and various other department officials and Gaushalas President were also present during the occasion.
