Punjab

Major relife to inter state Vat assesses

PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | August 01, 2020 10:36 AM

PATIALA:In a move aimed at facilitating the submission of the inter-state sale details by the VAT assesses and keeping in view the requests made by the business community, Punjab State Tax Department made available an online utility for submission of the inter-state sale details.

Divulging the details, Mr. Nilkanth Avhad, State Taxation Commissioner, said that the newly launched utility would not only give opportunity to the business community to pre-fill all the requisite data before manual submission of the statutory forms (Form C, E, F etc) required under CST Act, 1956, rather it will also reduce the contact time between the ward in-charge and the traders, keeping in view the COVID-19, he added.

He further said that the utility can be accessed through a link “Submit form details of inter-state sales” on the home page of the department website (pextax.com). Post acceptance of the details submitted by assesses the acknowledgement receipt can also be downloaded from the same website, he further added. For any issues assesses can mail at helpdesk.pex@punjab.gov.in or call at 01752300419/01752225192.

Additional Commissioner State Tax, Mr. Showkat Ahmed Parray said that State Tax department had issued a public notice on July 15, 2020 by directing all assesses to submit the various statutory forms (Form C, E, F etc) in support of inter-state sales. Assesses have been directed to do self assessment and deposit the requisite tax and interest, if applicable, on the inter-state sales under the CST act that are not supported by the statutory forms latest by August 17, 2020.
