Holla Mahalla, the symbol of Khalsai Jaho Jalal should be celebrated according to religious traditions: Advocate Dhami

AMRITSAR: In the meeting of Dharm Prachar Committee held under the chairmanship of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, urging to celebrate Holla Mahalla, the symbol of Khalsai Jaho Jalal, according to religious traditions, it was asked to stay away from any kind of rioting on this occasion.

Along with this, approval has also been given to open a special office at Gurdwara Sri Goindwal Sahib regarding the 450th centenary of the Jyoti Jyot Day (death anniversary)of the third Guru Sri Guru Amardas Ji.

Speaking after the meeting held at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical University, Wallah today, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had started the tradition of celebrating Hola Mahalla on the land of Sri Anandpur Sahib.

He said that every year on the occasion of Hola Mahala, a large number of devotees pay obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and show their respect. For some time now, some mischievous people have been creating trouble for the Sangats by making noise against the rules of the Guru Ghar.

Advocate Dhami said that Hola Mahalla is a symbol of Khalsai Jaho Jalal, which should be celebrated according to religious traditions.

He appealed to the youth to keep in mind the manners while going to the Guru's house and stay away from any kind of hazing.
Advocate Dhami also told that the 450th centenary of the third Guru Guru Amar Das Ji's Joti Jot Day is being celebrated at Goindwal Sahib in September.

A sub-committee was formed in this regard, according to the report, regarding the centenary celebrations, where the Dharm Prachar Committee office will be opened at Gurdwara Bauli Sahib Goindwal Sahib, on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas Baisakhi on April 14, a Gurmat ceremony dedicated to the centenary and amrit will be held.

He said that in today's gathering, Panth Ratan Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Institute of Advanced Studies in Sikhism, Bahadurgarh Patiala has also approved the work of preparing a classroom and a hostel for girls to start a judicial academy. Along with this, approvals were also given for various other works related to Dharm Prachar Committee.
