CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who was in thick of controversy for protecting accused of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib has raised another controversy by stating that he had visited Golden Temple complex two days after the Operation Blue Star in June 1984.

Earlier he claimed he was at his residence in village Badal during the days of Operation Blues Star. He was not allowed to move out of his residence due to curfew in whole of Punjab. The new revelation by Badal has opened Pandora's box. The radical Sikh organisation who often blame Badal for hobnobbing with Congress in conducting the Operation Blue Star to flush out Sant Jarbnail Singh Bhindrawala and Sikh militants from the complex.

Badal in his speech at Patiala rally on October 7 stated that Congress had ruined the Golden Temp-le and killed thousands of Sikhs. He said that he had visited the Golden Temple complex after two days of army operation and he saw the destruction with his own eyes. Now questions are being raised who took Badal to Golden Temple when there was curfew all over the state and Amritsar city was sealed by armed forces. Moreover, if he visited Golden Temple and Akal Takht what was his motive. Was his visit to do anything with the death fo Sant Jarnail Suingh Bhindrawala.

Badal while hitting at Congress for raising the issue fo sacrilege of Guru Grnath Sahib, he said that Guru Granth Sahib and Harmandir Sahib was wounded in the Operation Blue Star. He told the audience that He saw Golden Temple complex turned into pool of blood when he visited after two days.

The army had enetered the Golden Temple Complex on June 3 and final assault was made ion June 6, the day when Akal Takht was demolished. The questions are raised that why Badal was not put under house arrest while all other Sikh leaders were arrested. Even the senior functionaries of state government were not allowed to visit Amritsar at that time.

SAD(Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann said that he was saying it from long time that Badal himself was responsible for operation Blue Star. He said that if Badal visited Golden Temple two says after June 6 why he was not arrested by army. He said thar Badal along with Gurcharan Singh Tohra and Sant Harchand Singh Longowal held meetings with Narsimha Raio and other Congress leaders at Delhi before the Operation Blue Star.
