Mai Bhago armed forces Preparatory Institute for girls to conduct entrance test on august 5

CHANDIGARH:Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls, a premiere institute of the Punjab Government, has done online registration on the C- DAC portal for the prospective candidates this year due to corona pandemic. The entrance exam for fresh batch of girls for training in Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute would now be held on August 5, 2020. Disclosing this here today Maj. Gen. IP Singh, Director Mai Bhago AFPI said that the conduct of the exam has been out sourced to C-DAC who will ascertain eligibility of the candidates, issue of admit cards and intimate to them the date and venue of the examination.

Gen. IP Singh said that every year Mai Bhago AFPI conducts written entrance exam for enrolling 12th pass 25 girls for fresh batch to train them for a career as Commissioned Officers in the Defence Services. He said that normally in all the previous years the enrolling process used to be completed by July 15 but this year due to COVID-19 the process had been delayed.

Gen. Singh said that this year 1155 candidates had registered online however only 821 were eligible to appear in the exam. He informed that all necessary administrative clearances had been taken for the conduct of the exam. To maintain social distancing and avoid crowding, the exam would be conducted at two venues , Golden Bell Public School, Sector 77, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Mai Bhago AFPI for Girls Campus, Sector 66, Mohali. He further said that keeping in view the COVID-19 all safety measures and guidelines would be followed for conducting the exams. The safety measures which would be followed include social distancing, temperature recording, individual overall sanitisation under central arrangements, wearing of masks, use of hand sanitiser and use of Face Shields by invigilators. In the eventuality that a candidate is suspected of Corona symptoms during screening, he would be directed to the hospital.

Gen Singh also informed since the results of Class XII have just been declared and the academic college session is expected to start around from September 1, 2020, the selected girls would be able to get admission in the college for their academic studies, as Mai Bhago AFPI girls do their graduation from MCM DAV College Chandigarh.

Director of Mai Bhago institute Gen IP Singh also informed that so far two Lady Cadets have been commissioned as Lieutenant & Fling Officer in the Army and Air Force respectively. Three Lady Cadet are under training in OTA, Chennai and AFA, Dundigal. There are 08 Lady Cadets awaiting merit to join the pre commission training academies. Currently Bhago Lady Cadets are awaiting to take a total of 58 shots at the Air Force and Army SSB interviews.
