Punjab Govt to bear treatment expenses of Phagwara communal clash victims

PHAGWARA: Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mohammad Tayab who along with SSP Sandeep Sharma is camping at Phagwara since Friday night after violent clash between two communities has said that the administration will pay entire medical bill to DMC Ludhiana for the medical treatment of the injured Yaswant Kumar @ Bobby.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday evening, DC told that DC Ludhiana Pardeep Aggarwal has deputed Tehsildars on 24 hours duty while SP Kapurthala Jaskaran Singh Teja and BDPO Jasbir Singh Minhas are also deputed at DMC Ludhiana to take care  of the patient and to provide all possible help.

DC disclosed that  District Kapurthala  Red Cross Committee has handed over a cheque of Rs 1.25 Lac  to the management of Johal Hospital Rama Mandi  for the medical treatment of another injured Kulwinder today.
However DC confirmed that internet and SMS services have been suspended till monday evening.
