Punjab to hold sipplementary exams of Matric students from June 24

CHANDIGARH: The Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today congratulated the students placed in merit and those passing matriculation examination with flying colours, the results of which were declared today.

In a statement here, the minister while congratulating the students said that their strenuous efforts have borne fruit for which their parents as well as the teachers also deserve credit and wished them well for the future pursuits. She also extended congratulations to the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).

Making a significant announcement, the minister said that the supplementary examinations of the students placed under compartment would begin from 24th June so as to save their precious year. Instructing the board, she said that the supplementary exams of the students placed under compartment in 1 or 2 subjects be commenced from 24th June and result declared by 31st July in order to enable them to take admission in next class or a new course. It is worth mentioning that earlier the supplementary exams used to be conducted in the months of August-September.

The minister further announced that those teachers taking extra classes of the students placed under compartment after school hours or during summer holidays, would be honoured. Divulging more, she said that in case of the teachers improving upon the results of their students through extra classes, an entry would be made in their service record regarding the achievement.
