AMRITSAR : The PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College Amritsar today organized Comm-Fest with the aim to make the students aware about the new developments in the education and professional courses. The event was inaugurated by former vice chancellor, Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar, Dr. Rajneesh Arora who said that students must decide the goals in life based on own Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats (SWOT) Analysis.
He opined that the success can be achieved only through good behavior, team spirit and coordination. He appealed the youngsters to get coordinate for achieving the dreams visualized by our Ex-President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalaam to make our India as developed nation by the year 2020. The Principal Dr. Mehal Singh cherished the efforts of the department for this initiative and addressed participants that such event provides a stimulating environment for all round development of the students and to enhance their cognitive skills.
SJ Singh, Commissioner of Incomer Tax who was the guest of honour also inspired the students by saying that once you step into any task , then get so involved in it to take it to the heights and in turn, it will take you at the same heights. The Comm-Fest was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. Mehal Singh Principal, Dr. JS Arora, Head and Dean, Commerce and Prof. Rachhpal Singh, Coordinator. Dr. Arora and Prof. Rachhpal Singh informed that the purpose of EXPLORE 2K17 was to provide a platform to allow students to refurnish themselves in the bright shining colors of Khalsa College and it will bring with itself a constellation of talents, plethora of events and unique minds.
It witnessed a footfall of participation of more than 125 Students from the different colleges of Punjab. In this mega event, the various activities like Photography, PPT, Painting and Landscaping, Slogan Writing, Poetical Symposium, Rangoli, Folk Song Punjabi, Skit, Group Dance and Traditional Fashion Show were performed. Khalsa College Chawinda Devi was the overall winner of this festival and received its Overall Trophy from the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax.
