15 Rayat Bahra RST students get top placements

MOHALI: Fifteen students who have passed the postgraduate programme in railway signaling and telecommunication from the Rayat Bahra University have got placements in top companies after completion of their course.

Disclosing this here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, said that the Rayat Bahra University had taken the lead in introducing Asia’s first postgraduate programme in railway signaling and telecommunication under the guidance of Institute of Railway Signaling Engineers (IRSE), India section, to equip students with railway signaling and telecommunication technologies for an advanced career in various rail projects across the globe.

Suyesh Khare had got a package of Rs 7 lakh and had got placed in Alstom, Gautam Yadav got selected in Tech Mohindra on a package of Rs 4 lakh, manmohan singh had got a job with Tjales at Rs 3.78 lakh, and Rahul Yadav had been selected in Railtel at Rs 3.5 lakh.

Five students, namely Dinesh Gangwar, Mandeep Singh, Chanchal Sahoo, Uma Mahesh, and Chandan Vaishnav had been selected by Ansaldo STS on a package of Rs 4.5 lakh each. Suhas More and Jacob Varghese had got placement in Thales at Rs 3.78 lakh each. Anoop Mishra (Hitachi) had got a package of Rs 4.3 lakh, Aamir Raza (GGtronics) and Suresh Babu (CRSC) had got package of Rs 3.19 lakh each. Sandeep Singh had been selected by GGtronics on a yearly package of Rs 3.3 lakh.

Bahra said this employability-oriented education programme was being run in collaboration with the Institute of Railway Signaling Engineers (IRSE) to create, conduct and empower students to equip themselves with railway signaling and telecommunication technologies.

The IRSE, India Section, is providing guidance to the Rayat Bahra University for this programme with specialization in signaling and telecommunication technologies (S&T) engineering to train and create job ready S&T professionals as demanded by ever expanding rail networks and railway projects companies.

The IRSE is the professional institution for all those engaged in or associated with railway signaling, telecommunications and allied professions. The IRSE has its headquarters in London and is active worldwide, he added.
