Murder mystery of Canada based Punjabi NRI solved, two arrested

ABOHAR: Punjab Police claimed to have solved the mystery of murder of Canada based Punjabi NRI Balkaran Singh Bhullar who was killed on Diwali day, October 19, 2017 in Balluana village near here. Police have arrested two accused and claimed property dispute led to murder.

Police said that Balkaran Singh was contesting a property dispute and also had his stake in liquure trade. He was shot dead by two car borne assialants near his farm house. The excise department had closed about 50 liquor shops of deceased due to pending dues. Fearing attack on him Balkaran Singh had approached Punjab and Haryana High court for security and also hired some private gunmen. He was shot dead on Diwali when security gurads were on leave due to Diwali festival.

Police claimed that they have arrested Kulbir Singh brother of Samarbir Singh who had lost a property dispute against Bhullar. Another accomplice in crime Darshan Singh Lahoriya has also been arrested. The police has also booked Gurnek Singh Rinpy, Gurshetar Singh and five other unidentified persons in the murder case registered under section 302 and 120 of IPC and arms act.
