BSF seizes 6 packets of heroin from Naubehram outpost in Punjab

JALANDHAR:  The  Border Security Force personnel on November 4 seized and 6 Packets (weight approx-3.07Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin and Rs. 630/- Pak Currency in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Naubreham, Ex-02Bn BSF, Sector Abohar on Punjab border.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, harvesting of paddy crops and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border,ShMukulGoel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti- National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Abohardirected Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on the border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

BSP spokesmans siad that at about 1420 hrs, Kissan Guard Party of Border Out Post Naubreham, Ex- 02 Battalion BSF, Abohar Sector recovered a small cloth pouch from the fields ahead of Border Security Fence.On checking it, Rs. 630/- Pak Currency, some Pak visiting cards, I-Card, etc. were found. On suspicion, immediately a Special Search Ops was launched by BSF troops in the area between Border Security Fence and International Border. During the search, at about 1720hrs, BSF troops recovered 06 packets of contraband (weight approx. 3.070Kgs) suspected to be heroin which was buried in soil near an electric transformer in the field ahead of Border Security Fence.
