RSS leader Balraj Kataria passed away

MOHALI: Fomer leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sh. Balraj Kataria died at the age of 78 on 3rd November at Shri Muktsar Sahib. The funeral ceremony was held on 4th November (Saturday) at Shiv Vatika in Muktsar Sahib.

The Antim Shock Sabha ceremony would be held on 8th November (Wednesday) at Chahal Palace, Malout Road, Shri Muktsar Sahib.

Sh. Balraj Kataria was the father of Journalist Sh. Rajesh Kataria; Sh. Vijay Kataria and Sh. Billu Kataria. He was the elder brother of Prof. Roshan Lal Kataria, Founder of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh and Sh. Ravinder Kataria, Former President of BJP, Muktsar and Uncle of Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group and Sh. Chanchal Kataria, State Awardee, Muktsar.

Born on 1st April 1940 at Shri Muktsar Sahib, Balraj Kataria was associated with Jan Sangh, Janta Party, RSS and Bhartiya Janta Party from the very beginning. In 1977, he became the President of Janta Party, Muktsar. He was the Vice president of Muktsar Improvement Trust. He was also the patron of Swadeshi Jagran Munch, Muktsar. He was also jailed during emergency days.

Various politicians and religious parties expressed deep sorrow on this loss.

It is to be mentioned that Balraj Kataria got paralysis attack 20 years ago. But with the continuous and regular care of his health by his 3 sons and daughter in laws he spent these 20 years actively.
