National Webinar on Entrepreneurship Development concludes

CHANDIGARH:Two-day national webinar on entrepreneurship development
is concluded here on Thursday. It was organized by MCM DAV College for
Women, Sector 36 Chandigarh in collaboration with Entrepreneurship
Development Cell (EDC) of Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship
Development (RCED) and Tech Mahindra Foundation’s SMART-T Centre,
Mohali.
The program started off well with more than 350
participants from across India registering by filling out the form on
https://rcedindia.com/.
Prof. Sanjiv Puri, (Panjab University, Chandigarh
Honorary Director, Center for Industry Institute Partnership
Programmes), inaugurated the program and also explain how to convert
challenges into opportunities and thus helping society. The keynote
speech was given Dr. Nisha Bhargava, MCM DAV College, she also
appreciated the coordinated efforts of all for this initiative
The Experts in the field including Mr. Paramjit Singh
(Director RCED), Dr. Anil Angrish (Associate Professor, NIPER, SAS
Nagar), Mr. Vipan Sarin (CEO-Farmers Shop), Dr. J.S Saini (Professor,
Rural Development & Head, Centre for Physically Challenged Person,
NITTTR, Sector 26, Chandigarh), Mr. Sidharth Angrish ( Co-founder,
CEO, Jiyyo ) and Dr. P. J. Singh (CMD, Tynor Orthotics Pvt. Ltd., SAS
Nagar) took the sessions.
Through the session, guidance on entrepreneurship was
given which majorly covered all the necessary topics like Need for
Entrepreneurship, Charms in becoming Entrepreneur, Intrapreneurial
Development and Story of an agri start-up and Opportunity
identification and viable projects for first generation Entrepreneurs.
Along with this the steps involved in setting up MSME and the schemes
of various departments and Banks for the promotion of MSME were also
discussed.
During the valedictory address Dr. P. J. Singh (CMD,
Tynor Orthotics Pvt. Ltd., SAS Nagar) shared his success story of
Tynor Orthotics. He also motivated to stay optimistic and positive
during the ups and downs of what life offers, which he beautifully
explained by sharing one of his personal life experience. He also gave
a positive outlook to the current situation by identifying current
situation and ulitilizing the available resources in the best possible
way. He gave a valuable tip that Business and quality of product and
services go hand in hand, he also said that his employees are his real
assets and taking care of employees is his first priority and this is
well supported by the proof that not even a single employee from his
organization migrated during the lockdown period.
Dr. Geeta Mehra (Head, Dept. of Food Science, MCM
DAV College for Women, Chandigarh) coordinated the program. Ms. Payal
Sharma, Mrs. Jasleen Kaur and Rashim Bhatnagar from RCED took care of
all the end to end process of training.
The objective of organizing the Entrepreneurship
Development Program is to inspire students are sitting at home while
at Lockdown, to train themselves meaningfully for the future
difficulties. The program is designed to encourage and guide the
students in starting up their own venture. It is one of RCED 's
initiatives in the Lock down.
The system has certainly been broken during this
rough period and this initiative of RCED served as a coping tool in
the battle against depression. The main purpose of this program was to
lead the course for students who want to become an entrepreneur or who
want to set up their own firms, but have little specialized skills.
All End to End inputs from project definition, Selection to
effectively operate the projects was received during preparation.
