Special Monitoring Cell Teams raid 489 Schools in Punjab

CHANDIGARH : On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 489 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.

Divulging the details Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Secondary Education) said that during the special checking total 213 teachers were found absent while 13 teachers too were latecomers. He said that immediately after opening the schools special teams visited 164 schools of Faridkot Circle, 200 schools of Nabha (Patiala) and 125 schools of Jalandhar Circle.


He further said that 7 teachers were found absent in Jalandhar Circle and 8 were late comers. Similarly during the check of 164 schools in Faridkot Circle 6 teachers were found absent and 5 were late comers.


DPI Mr. Dhol said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the Government Schools special and surprise checking would continue in future also.
